Double Flange Bottom Roller CR4302 CR6153 1210827 for Caterpillar 953LGP Track Loader Undercarriage
The Caterpillar 953 LGP is a versatile track loader that demands extreme stability. Because LGP (Low Ground Pressure) machines utilize wider track shoes, the lateral stress on the bottom rollers is significantly higher during turns. Our Double Flange Bottom Rollers are specifically reinforced to guide the track chain securely, preventing de-tracking and ensuring even load distribution across the entire undercarriage.
Our rollers are engineered to 1:1 OEM standards, providing a "drop-in" replacement that maintains the original geometry of your Cat 953.

2. Why Double Flanges Cannot Be Replaced by Single Flanges
A. Lateral Guidance (Preventing De-tracking)
A bulldozer or track loader (like the 953 LGP) generates massive side-loads when turning or working on slopes. Single flange rollers only provide half the lateral support. Without double flange rollers to "lock" the chain in place, the track would easily slide off (de-track), causing immediate machine downtime.
B. Stability & "Snaking" Prevention
Double flange rollers act as the "aligners" for the entire system. Without them, the track chain starts to "snake" (wiggle side-to-side). This snaking causes the track links to grind against the sides of the sprockets and idlers, leading to accelerated wear on parts that are much more expensive than the rollers themselves.
C. LGP (Low Ground Pressure) Requirements
Machines like the Cat 953 LGP have very wide track shoes. These wide shoes act like levers, creating huge twisting forces on the rollers during pivots. Only the reinforced outer shoulders of a double flange roller can withstand these forces and keep the track centered.

3. Our 953 double-flange bottom rollers undergo a precise two-stage heat treatment for optimal wear resistance and toughness:
Overall Quenching & Tempering: The forged roller body is heated to 850–950°C, quenched in a controlled medium to form a uniform martensite structure, then tempered at 500–650°C. This gives the core HRC 48–54 hardness with excellent impact toughness.
Induction Surface Hardening: The tread and flange edges are selectively heated via medium-frequency induction to 900–1000°C, then rapidly quenched. This creates a deep hardened layer (5–7 mm) with surface hardness HRC 48–54, ensuring superior abrasion resistance while keeping the core tough to prevent cracking under load.
4. The "Cost of Delay": How a Failing Roller Destroys Your Undercarriage
In a track loader like the 953 LGP, a "flat-spotted" or seized bottom roller creates a destructive ripple effect:
Track Link "Scalloping": When a roller fails to spin, the track links slide over it. This grinds down the link rails, causing an uneven "scalloped" wear pattern that makes the machine vibrate violently.
Accelerated Bushing Wear: Misalignment caused by a broken double flange allows the track chain to "snake." This puts uneven pressure on the pin-and-bushing joints, leading to premature track stretching (pitch extension).
Final Drive Stress: A seized roller adds massive rotational resistance. Your final drive motor has to work harder to overcome this friction, leading to increased hydraulic temperature and fuel consumption.
